How to use web services to access the system?

Hi, I’ve noticed the option of enabling external access through web services.

I’ve done that, but how to I get the WSDLs to generate the web services on my application?

Thanks

marvila: Hi, thanks for your interest in sMoneybox web service. Some brief documentation for using our web service can be found here http://www.smoneybox.com/project/web_service including WSDL URL. Please feel free to ask any other questions. Good luck.

Martin Hladil: Thanks Martin.

I took a look at the documentation and it seems good, although I think that not all methods were explained there.

Anyway, I will test both your windows client and check the WSDL to see if I can get more information from there and maybe suggest something else about it :)

Cheers,
Marvila

Martin Hladil: I have finished taking a look at the WSDL and I couldn’t find how to log into the system.

What I have in mind is to create a GUI where I can get the information from sMoneyBox and display it as I need.

I like the web interface, however there are some things I would like to have that are not implemented like a future view of my expenses.

If you have some examples on how to log in and how to create and get records, that would be really good.

Thanks,
Marvila

marvila: Web service authentication is done via HTTP basic access authentication so it is not exactly login but user credentials are sent in every single request.

Documentation is maybe brief but it is complete. For now there is no possibility to retrieve your records by web service. Web service is only intended to be used for quick adding of new records.

Martin Hladil: Oh… I see now. Thanks for the explanation. Unfortunately what I wanted with this was to get the data to create my own view of my data.

Thanks for your prompt replys :)

marvila: You’re welcome. Anyway for your own calculations or data views you can use export feature which is not so dynamic (data must be exported by hand) but this can be solution to your problem too.
